At the time of writing this article, there isn’t any confirmation about Neeraj Tyagi’s cause of death as he passed away aged around 50. However, social media users suggested that he might have suffered a heart attack. In the early-stage investment circle of India, Neeraj Tyagi was a familiar name, who had spent a decade monitoring founders and backing new startups.

Who was Neeraj Tyagi?
As per his official LinkedIn profile, Neeraj Tyagi was the co-founder and CEO of We Founder Circle, Investt, and VC Partner Avinya Ventures, and an angel investor, who made more than 60 personal investments.
He placed early bets on companies like Oben Electric, Anveshan, ClearDekho, BluSmart, and HealthySure. As per his bio on LinkedIn, the investor had made a global investor community. In addition, he had led startup delegations in all important capital cities like Hong Kong, London, Beijing, Dubai, and Singapore, to raise capital in his portfolio’s companies.
He also co-founded Invstt, a marketplace for startups and investors, which has attracted over 27,000 investors across 66 countries and 900 cities, according to the firm. In 2024, he co-founded Avinya Ventures, extending his focus on institutionalising early-stage investing.
Tyagi was regularly featured as a mentor, speaker, and panelist across corporate sectors, and educational institutes, such as IIT and IIMs. As per his LinkedIn, the investor cum businessman hailed from Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
Based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, Neeraj Tyagi had graduated with executive education from MIT Sloan School of Management. Tyagi had worked with various big names such as Rooter, Hesa, Garuda Aerospace Ptd Ltd., Oben Electric, Zypp Electric, Investt, Avinya Ventures, and We Founder Circle which he had also co-founded.
In 2024, he had co-founded Avinya Ventures, extending his focus on institutionalising early-stage investing.
As of now, there isn’t much information available about his wife and children. However, prior to his death, the investor, had been active since last 9 years, and proactively monitoring and investing in startups. He was well versed with media technologies across all media platforms.

The news of Neeraj Tyagi’s demise came months after the passing of the founder and CEO of Workspace solutions provider, Table Space, Amit Banerji, who passed away in January, 2025.
