Following the arrest, Suresh reportedly admitted to planning the murder for years and claimed that he wanted to punish paedophiles.
Vishnu Suresh caught plotting paedophile’s murder in US
Fremont police on September 18 responded to a violent altercation on Upper Vintners Circle and, upon their arrival, discovered David Brimmer, who was a registered s*x offender, bleeding from multiple stab wounds. Despite emergency aid, the 71-year-old reportedly died at the scene, and investigators stated that Suresh had looked up Brimmer’s details on California’s Megan’s Law website less than an hour before carrying out the attack. Suresh disguised himself as a CPA, carrying a bag and a notebook, and approached Brimmer’s home. He then confirmed his identity and chased him through nearby streets before stabbing him fatally in the neck and throat.
29-year-old Varun Suresh, was found standing outside the home and was arrested at the scene after police recovered the knife and has been charged with murder, armed individual causing great bodily injury and residential burglary.
Charges and allegations
Prosecutors have since charged Varun Suresh with murder, burglary, and causing great bodily injury. According to court documents, he expressed no remorse for his crimes and instead called the killing “honestly really fun.” He told police:
“I’m hoping that because [the victim is] a pedophile… it should be cool.”
Notably, authorities have revealed that he has had previous run-ins with the law, including a 2021 arrest for a false bomb threat. During the arrest, Suresh claimed that he was simply “hunting” the CEO of Hyatt Hotels, whom he wrongly believed to be a child predator.
Suresh shared a quote he believed was relevant to the crime saying, “It is not your duty to decide whether Heaven will accept them, it’s your duty to send them to the gates.”
Brimmer is listed on the s*x offender registry and was convicted in 1995 of lewd and lascivious acts with a child and served about nine years in prison.

Suresh reportedly harbored an obsession with punishing s*x offenders and spent immense time combing through public registries and screenshotting offender profiles to track them down. As of now, his personal life and background remain largely under wraps, aside from his history with law enforcement and the bomb threat case.

According to authorities, Varun Suresh posed as a certified public accountant (CPA) during the attack. However, authorities have still not confirmed if he held any real professional license or steady employment.
