Earlier, reports surfaced revealing that Nestle’s CEO, Laurent Freixe, has been removed from his position, sparking widespread claims that the 63-year-old was fired following an alleged affair with a subordinate of his at Nestle.

What Exactly Happened?
As aforesaid, Nestle fired its CEO Laurent Freixe after an internal investigation revealed that he was in a relationship with his subordinate, a violation of the company’s code of conduct. Following the removal of the Chief Executive Officer of Nestle, the company released a statement revealing that the Swiss Multinational will immediately appoint Philipp Navratil as the new CEO.
The decision of his removal was made by the company’s board members at its headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland, following an internal investigation led by company’s Chairman, Paul Bulcke alongside, Pablo Isla, who serves as the Lead Independent Director of the brand.
As of now, the identity of the subordinate with whom Freixe had the relationship with is not known as Nestlé has not disclosed personal details, citing legal and privacy reasons.
The company has maintained that the matter is a violation of Nestlé’s Code of Business Conduct.
It is not yet known if Laurent is married and has any children either with him keeping his personal life private.

Who is Laurent Freixe?
Laurent Freixe is a French business Executive, who served as the CEO of Nestle from September 2004 to 2005. He was born in Paris, France, on April 21, 1962, to electrical engineer parent, Freixe who went to EDHEC Business School to earn a degree in MBA, in 1985.
As per his LinkedIn profile, the business executive worked for Nestle for approximately 19 years before being fired by the company in September 2025. Before joining Nestle, Laurent Freixe worked at various companies.
He began his career in 1991, when he joined Findus France, where in he worked for approximately 3 years and 4 months, before quitting in Jun 1994, and joined Nestle in June 1994, as Director of Marketing Division Nutrition.
Later, he was promoted to the Chocolates division as the Director in March 1998, a position he served for 1 year and 7 months, before being promoted as the Head of the Nutrition Division in September 1999, and Chief Executive Officer Hungaria Kit, a position he was promoted to and joined in March 2003. Overall, at the time of his leaving, Laurent Freixe worked for Nestle for approximately 13 years, before calling it quits, and joining GAN Global in June 2019.

Additionally, he also worked for Global Alliance for Youth, WBCSD, EDHEC Business School, The Consumer Goods Forum, before once again joining Nestle in January 2007.
