Investigators say they found evidence inside a Bowie home that indicates that Dacara Thompson was killed in the bedroom of a 35-year-old man identified as Hugo Hernandez-Mendez.
The killer, age 35 Hugo Hernandez-Mendez of Maryland, is an immigrant from Guatemala who was in the country illegally and he was arrested by U.S. Park Police police in April for a DUI case but was released by federal officials.
What Did the Reports Reveal?
As per reports, on Friday, the authorities of Prince George’s County apprehended Hugo Hernandez-Mendez of Bowie on the charges of first and second degree murder of a Maryland teenager.
As per reports, the tragic case came to light after the investigators discovered a dead body on August 31. They found the dead body of a teenager later identified as Dacara Thompson of Lanham in a neighbouring Anne Arundel County.

After the identification of the dead body, the authorities began a joint investigation in the tragic case.
What Did the Investigation Reveal?
The investigation revealed that the teenager was approaching a black color SUV in the early hours of August 23. At first she had a brief conversation seemingly with the driver of the SUV and later on she entered the vehicle.
The authorities revealed that the vehicle went to 12000 block of Kembridge drive in Bowie. It was revealed that she was killed inside a bedroom. Hernandez-Mendez had access to the SUV and lived in the bedroom where the killing occurred.
As of now the authorities are busy confirming whether the culprit and victim knew each other before the incident or not. As of now, the office of the chief medical examiner hasn’t said a word about her cause of death, so we don’t have any confirmed reason behind her passing, though the authorities stated that they are expecting the case to be of homicide.
At the time of writing, Hugo Hernandez-Mendez is being held by the authorities without a bond.
Let us remind you, prior to the discovery of Dacara Thompson’s remains and her identification, the authorities were searching for her everywhere, after it was reported that the teenager went missing. She was last seen on the night of August 22, after she left her father’s house in Lanham, to allegedly get gas for her car.
Two days later, her car was found abandoned across a volunteer fire station. The vehicle was parked in incorrectly in front of a fire hydrant.
Inside the car, the authorities found her purse, carrying cash and credit cards. Her family reported her missing the day she disappeared.
