Local police have confirmed Desmond Holly as the student who carried out Wednesday’s shooting at Evergreen High School. Desmond reportedly rode the school bus that morning and opened fire around lunchtime with a revolver, sending panic throughout the campus. Holly reportedly fired multiple rounds from outside the building, striking one student inside and another outside. As of now, both of the victims are in critical condition but managed to survive the shooting. According to officers, Holly carried a significant amount of ammunition and reloaded several times before eventually turning the gun on himself.
One of the victims has been identified as 18-year-old Matthew Silverstone and his family expressed appreciation for the support they’ve received while requesting privacy as they focus on his recovery.
Deputies learned Holly was radicalized through an extremist network and he used a handgun to carry out the attack.
The sheriff’s office meanwhile is in contact with the suspect’s parents and has obtained a warrant to search his locker and phone.

The tragic shooting took place just after midday, with students describing how things got chaotic as gunfire erupted. Authorities stated that it remains unclear whether Holly targeted the victims or fired randomly. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has also confirmed that the investigators recovered Holly’s driver’s license photo from the site and are now combing through his home, locker, and phone to better understand his motives.

Desmond Holly, the son of Morgan Holly was a 16-year-old student at Evergreen High School, Colorado who recently carried out a mass shooting using a revolver. Authorities described Desmond as a deeply troubled youngster who was possibly influenced by extremist ideology. Desmond sadly took his own life after carrying out the shooting by turning the gun on himself. Beyond school records and his driver’s license photo, there is little to no information released about his personal life or background publicly.
Investigators have stated that Holly’s family is cooperating with law enforcement as they search for answers and are trying to determine how he obtained the revolver and ammunition.
