Earlier, reports emerged claiming that a 23-year-old man identified as De’Corlion Keshaun Robinson killed an asistant football coach of the Parker High School, Demetrice Beverly.

What Exactly Happened?
The tragic incident, wherein Robinson shot Beverly dead took place on Wednesday, August 13, at an apartment located in the 1100 block of Lakeshore Ridge. The culprit is set to appear before the judge for a preliminary hearing in September.
As per officials, they were dispatched to the scene at around 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 13, in response to a call of a person being shot. After reaching the location, they found the victim unresponsive in the bedroom with an apparent gunshot injury.
The fire and rescue department of Birmingham pronounced him dead upon their arrival. A woman who has since been identified as Robinson’s girlfriend who was with Beverly inside the apartment and present there told the investigators that Robinson entered the bedroom, shot down Beverly and fled the scene. The woman called the 911 and stayed there to have words with the officials.
Shortly afterwards, the investigators located the man and arrested him from complex’s parking lot.
Beverly’s father said his son was visiting a female friend and was shot multiple times with a Glock switch by the woman’s boyfriend after Robinson caught her with Beverly in Birmingham.

Robinson appeared Monday before Jefferson County District Judge Kandice Pickett for an Aniah’s Law hearing who had set a bond of $165,000 for De’Corlion Keshaun Robinson, who is facing multiple charges, including of murder and illegal possession of a machine gun used in the alleged shooting.
The bond was set after Beverly’s family agreed to pay it. His bond includes $15,000 for the weapons charges, and $150,000 for the murder charge.

About Demetrice Beverly
Although, not much is known about the Parker High School assistant football coach, however as per his online obituary, the late coach was born on September 29, 1985, in Birmingham, Alabama. As per his obituary, Beverly was a “proud graduate of A.H. Parker High School,” and spent his life helping others.
Reportedly, the 39-year-old served as a coach and mentor at various schools across the state. He is survived by his wife, and three daughters.
He returned to his alma mater in 2020 as a part-time assistant football coach and also worked in the pediatric psychiatric unit at Children’s of Alabama.
Public visitation service will take place on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 12:00 afternoon to 4:00 P.M. evening, with family hours starting from 4:00 P.M.to 6:00 P.M. at Davenport & Harris Funeral Homes.
Additionally, a Celebration of Life for the late football coach will be held on August 23, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Shades Mountain Baptist Church.
