Social media users have since praised Matt as a “father of justice” for taking the tough decision to bring in his son despite the personal cost.
The grey Dodge Challenger in which Tyler was seen arriving at Utah Valley University and leaving after the murder, belonged to him and he was seen was wearing a plain maroon T-shirt, light-coloured shorts and a black hat with a white logo.
Tyler had made on Discord, a chat platform, discussing retrieving a rifle from a drop point and then leaving the rifle in a bush wrapped in a towel, the same weapon which was recovered and belongs to him used to shoot Charlie Kirk dead. While no motive or manifesto has been recovered yet, Tyler had no criminal record.
Meanwhile, ammunition found had been inscribed with of the messages on the casing reading: “What’s this;” “Oh, Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao, Ciao;” “If you read this, you are gay, LMAO;” and “Hey fascist, catch!.”

Tyler’s father, Matt Robinson, worked as a law enforcement officer for 27 years under the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. When the FBI released photos of the Charlie Kirk shooting suspect, Matt reportedly recognized his son and made the painful decision to alert authorities. According to reports, Tyler even confessed it himself directly to his father before the tip-off.

Tyler’s mother, Amber Robinson, reportedly works in the care sector with the Intermountain Support Coordination Services, which is a company contracted by the state of Utah to help disabled people secure essential care. Amber’s friends and neighbors have described her as compassionate and dedicated to her profession. As of now, Amber has not spoken publicly since her son’s arrest.

Tyler Robinson, a biological male who is a Christian also has two brothers named Austin and Logan. Austin was starting his junior year of high school while Logan was starting his freshman year as per a 2021 Facebook post by their mother Amber.
Tyler attended Utah State University for one semester in 2021 and had also received a $32,000 scholarship from the college. Tyler maintained a 4.0 GPA and achieved near-perfect scores on the ACT.
