The recent outburst comes just two months after the U.S. revoked the band’s visas following their “death to the IDF” chants at Glastonbury.
Bob Vylan mocks Charlie Kirk’s assassination
During a recent Amsterdam show, Bobby Vylan dedicated a track to Charlie Kirk, who was gunned down at Utah Valley University last week. Amidst the performance, he sneered in front of a cheering crowd:
“The pronouns was/were. Because if you talk s—, you will get banged. Rest in piss, Charlie Kirk, you piece of s—.”
While his words drew loud approval from fans, he faced immediate backlash online, with the US State Department revoking their Visas yet again. Charlie Kirk was recently killed during his “American Comeback Tour” after an assailant shot him in the neck while he debated college students. In response to the backlash, Bobby Vylan later posted a video denying that he “celebrated” Kirk’s death. However, critics have already labelled his comments during the concert as proof of the “assassination culture” that Kirk himself warned about.

Bob Vylan is a British punk-rap duo that consists of frontman Bobby Vylan (real name Pascal Robinson-Foster) and drummer Bobbie Vylan. The pair formed the group back in 2017 after meeting each other in London. Robinson-Foster started out as a grime artist and performance poet under the name “Nee-Hi.” He initially started out performing in community events and even at police association conferences before turning fully to punk-rap.
Despite their popularity, the duo keeps parts of their identity hidden, which is a deliberate move to resist what they call “a surveillance state.” Pascal Robinson-Foster’s name recently became widely known after the Glastonbury controversy, where he chanted death threats to IDF soldiers. Robinson-Foster was raised in Ipswich and has been politically outspoken since his teens, attending pro-Palestine protests at age 15. This strong activism has also followed through into his music, along with anti-establishment anger.
While both members use stage names to maintain their privacy in face of what they describe as a surveillance state and collectively refer to themselves as “the Bobs, according to social media users, the real name of singer Bobby Vylan is Pascal Robinson-Foster, he is aged 34 and lives in Ipswich, and is sole director of two companies, Ghost Theatre Ltd (company number 15363944) and Lavy Hill Ltd (company number 15013737) and while Bobbie’s real name isn’t known meanwhile, he is believed to be in his 30s as well.
Prior to starting the band, Robinson-Foster previously performed as a poet under the name Nee Hi, and he was a part of grime collective Ear 2 da Street and has also previously worked as a youth mentor who performed at the Black and Asian Police Association conference in 2005.
Robinson-Foster, 34 who has Jamaican heritage, started writing verse as a teenager around 2004, becoming an established performance poet under the name Nee Hi, as well as being part of a grime outfit called Ear 2 da Street and was invited to perform at the Black and Asian Police Association conference in Manchester in 2005, and served as a mentor for the young people in his home town Ipswich.
While he was born in Ipswich and has Jamaican heritage, the name of his parents aren’t known and he also has a daughter but it is not known if he has a wife or girlfriend.
While the Foster surname is of English origin, derived from the occupation of “forester” or “keeper of the forest”, it is not associated with any specific religion but Pascal could be a Christian by religion.
Bob Vylan music career
The two formed in Ipswich in 2017 and their musical style is a mix of punk, rap, and hard rock and have released three albums – We Live Here (2020), Bob Vylan Presents The Price Of Life (2022), and last year’s Humble As The Sun – and their music has won them awards including best alternative act at the MOBOs in 2022, and best album at the Kerrang Awards in the same year.
Bob Vylan gained mainstream recognition with their 2020 debut and climbed into the UK Top 20 with later albums. The duo gained critical recognition with their hard-hitting mix of punk, grime, reggae, and indie, including Kerrang!’s Album of the Year. They notably performed at Coachella in 2025, signaling a jump into global markets. Their lyrics focus on food poverty, racism, corrupt landlords, and police brutality, often using provocative words.
The duo’s music also often intertwines with pro-Palestinian messaging, which is a stance that has further intensified recently. Their recent “death to the IDF” chant at Glastonbury sparked investigations and intense condemnation from UK leaders. It also led to the U.S. issuing a visa ban against them, which crushed their autumn U.S. tour plans. Bobbie and Bobby have a combined net worth of $2 million.
The duo has an active Instagram account with the handle @bobbyvylan, where they have 435K followers and 62 posts. They constantly update their live dates, music, and other information about the band and their performances on the page.
