Da Silva recently made history by becoming the first-ever 2010-born player to win a WTA match after earning a wildcard into the SP Open. Despite dropping the opening set in a tie-break, Da Silva fought back to win 6-7 (0), 6-2, 6-0 against fellow compatriot Carolina Alves in the first round. Following the win, she will now face a second-round clash with Argentina’s Solana Sierra, the world No. 82 and No. 2 seed.
