Unfortunately, the backlash has dragged the female lead of his upcoming film, Romantics Anonymous, Han Hyo-joo into the controversy as well.

What Exactly Happened?
In the midst of the highly anticipated Korean-Japan co-produced show Romantics Anonymous, which is set to premiere at the 30th Busan International Film Festival in September, the male lead of the show is being boycotted by the fans, after viral n*de pictures of him resurfaced online.
Netflix Asia’s biggest title of the year, which was set for a global release in October 2025, is now hanging in uncertainty, thanks to the controversial pictures surfacing online.
For context, Oguri Shun’s past is clouded in rumors linking him to secret liaisons with models at exclusive clubs, though the scandal truly emerged in 2023, when YouTuber Higashitani Yoshikazu, released the Boys Over Flowers actor’s n*de images.
In the photo of Shun Oguri, he was undressed, his underwear was down to his knees, and he was holding a microphone, singing. The photo was taken at a resort in Hiroshima in Japan with Shun also having been accused of having a string of affairs across the years.
The photo shows two women in the background. One girl is calmly folding clothes while the woman on the left does not show her face and half of her arm can be seen wearing a suspender. There are a pair of hands in the lower body of Oguri Shun that is blocked.

At the time of the image leak, the actor was married and had four children, which at the time sparked an outrage, and the same thing is yet again creating an outrage amongst fans. Though, at the time, his family stood by his side and the actor managed to continue work in Japan.
After his work in Boys Over Flowers, the actor became the heartthrob of Asia, however with the resurrection of these controversial images online, and the boycott calls, his future looks uncertain. Korean netizens’ are now accusing him of using a Korean-Japanese project to “whitewash,” his damaged reputation.

Social networking sites in Korea have been flooded with anger and calls to boycott the actor, Oguri Shun. One such fan took to X and wrote, “I’m shocked this is a married man with four kids. How could his family forgive him.” Another one wrote, “I worry for Han Hyo-joo. His scandal could ruin her image too.”
About Oguri Shun
Shun was born in Kodaira, Tokyo, Japan, on December 26, 1982, to stage director Tetsuya Oguri. The 6 feet half inch (1.84m) tall actor has more than 100 credits to his name. The actor also directed his own movie in 2010, titled “Surely Someday.” He also made debut in Hollywood in 2021, when he appeared in Godzilla vs. Kong.
Career
The actor made his television debut via Hachidai Shogun Yoshimune. Though, he rose to fame after he played the role of a bullied and abused child in Great Teacher Onizuka. His acting in the drama as Noboru Yoshikawa attracted a lot of attention and helped him grabbed bigger roles.
Later, he appeared in various shows such as Summer Snow, Gokusen, Hana Dori Yango, Hanazakari no Kimitachi, Binbō Danshi, Tokyo Dogs, Jūi Dolittle, Nobunaga Concerto, among many more.
Marital Status
The actor is married to a Japanese actress and model Yu Yamada on March 14, 2012. The couple share two children together.
