Bandra Fair 2025 significance
The Bandra Fair has been celebrated for over 300 years in honor of the miracle of a statue of Mother Mary which was found floating in the Arabian Sea by a Koli fisherman. The annual event is a reminder of that discovery and celebrates Mother Mary’s blessings. It has since outgrown from being just a Catholic tradition to a cultural gathering open to all. Each year, the fair stands as a symbol of faith, resilience, and community spirit, and attracts people from across faiths. In the more recent years, the Bandra Fair has also become a symbol of commemorating Mumbai’s unity and adaptation.
