As aforesaid, the festival is observed by Hindus as they celebrate the birth of deity Ganesh. The festival is marked with the installation of the deity’s idols, and is mostly celebrated in the state of Maharashtra.
While, as of now, it isn’t known how and when the Ganesh Chaturthi was first observed, however, the festival has been celebrated since the era of King Shivaji, the founder of Maratha Empire. The festival was first observed during the time in Pune from 1630-1680.

This year’s festival, celebrating the birth of Ganesha, a deity of wisdom and prosperity, will be observed from August 27 to September 6. Although, the festival is celebrated all over India, however, it is mainly observed in Maharashtra, a centre where the festival was first observed, and mainly the eyes of every devotee remain on the Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja, which is the most iconic idol standing 50 feet tall.

Lalbaugcha Raja Darshan 2025 Details
For the unversed, the Lalbaugcha Raja pandal offers a variety of timings to seek the deity’s blessings starting from;
General Darshan – 5:00 A.M. – 11:00 P.M.
Charan Sparsha Darshan – 6:00 A.M. – 11:00 P.M.
Mukh Darshan – 6:00 A.M. – 11:00 P.M.
Live darshan online – Available 24 Hours on the Youtube channel
As per various reports, devotees can witness the pooja daily as per following the timings daily while meanwhile, the special poojas are conducted as per advance bookings.

Morning Pooja – 7:00 A.M. – 7:30 A.M.
Mid-day Pooja – 12:00 P.M. – 12:30 P.M.
Evening Pooja – 7:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.
Night Pooja – 10:00 P.M. – 10:30 P.M.
Tickets Price
There are two entry gates:
Siddhi Gate – Free entry
Riddhi Gate – Paid entry
The pandal is located at Lalbaug, Parel, in Central Mumbai.
Devotees have to pay a sum for attending the pooja and to seek the blessings of the deity. The ticket details are as follows:
General Darshan – 50 Rs.
VIP Darshan – 200 Rs.
Special Darshan – 500 Rs.
To book the ticket, devotees can head to the official website of Lalbaugcha Raja, and register themselves using their phone number. Afterwards, visit the online booking service option, and then book the tickets for the darshan, after selecting the type of ticket, day, and time for darshan and pay the charges.
Remember to carry a print or digital copy with you before heading towards the temple and also carry an id card for your visit.
