GTA 6 release date
Rockstar Games has officially set the worldwide release date for GTA 6 as May 26, 2026. Despite several rumors of further delays, insiders and company executives are confident of the date.
GTA 6 is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on 26 May 2026 but Rockstar has not confirmed a PC release, and there’s no mention yet of a version for PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch 2. A PC version will likely come later but cross-platform play has not been confirmed yet.
You cannot pre-order Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) at this time but you can wishlist the game on your console’s store to receive updates. Rockstar Games is expected to announce pre-order details soon.
GTA 6 price in India
While the official price isn’t known yet, some repots claim it could cost as high as 150 pounds.
GTA 6 will offer three different editions with different price points in India:
- The Standard Edition will be priced at around ₹5,999
- The Deluxe Edition will cost approximately ₹7,299
- Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition is estimated to be above ₹10,000
The three different editions will vary in content and come with different early access perks.

According to experts, Rockstar Games reportedly invested over $2 billion into the development and marketing of GTA 6. As such, it is one of the most expensive games ever produced and features cutting-edge graphics, expansive storylines, advanced AI, and an evolving online multiplayer experience. According to industry analysts, the game will generate over billions in revenue shortly after release.
GTA 6 new characters
GTA 6 will introduce two new lead protagonists: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Lucia is notably the popular franchise’s first non-optional female lead. Aside from the main characters, there are several supporting characters who will play crucial roles. These include Boobie Ike, a powerful businessman; Raul Batista, a seasoned bank robber; and Cal Hampton, Jason’s paranoid ally.
GTA 6 gameplay
Ahead of its release, there have been many gameplay leaks hinting at revolutionary features, like a love meter that tracks relationship dynamics influenced by player choices. Players can also now expect three modes: solo play as Jason, solo play as Lucia, and a dual protagonist mode that allows simultaneous control of both characters. Moreover, Jason will have a special dead-eye ability that slows time and target enemy weak spots, while Lucia will have a similar ability but more limited ability. Other new innovations include a six-star wanted level, underwater treasure hunts, expansive secrets, and much more.
