Earlier, reports surfaced suggesting that the Houston authorities have identified the suspect and a victim in the fatal shooting that took place in Texas. The authorities firstly identified the 11-year-old victim as Julian Guzman, a sixth grader who was fatally shot by Gonzalo Leon Jr while playing a prank called “Ding, Dong, Ditch.”

The suspect, Leon Gonzalo Jr was charged with murder in the kid who ding dong ditched his residence.

As per media reports, on Tuesday, the investigators charged and apprehended a suspect in the fatal shooting and identified him as Gonzalo Leon Jr. The culprit behind the shooting is currently behind bars at the Harris County jail on charges of shooting in the neighborhood of Eastside.
The young child was rushed to a nearby hospital after being shot, when he was playing a prank at a home. As of now, it isn’t clear, whether Gonzalo Leon Jr was the owner of one of the homes, the child had knocked or was simply staying in any of those homes.

What Did the Police Reveal?
As per the counts given by the authorities, the young kid was “ringing the doorbells of homes,” in his area and after ringing the doorbells he was immediately running away, hence was playing the Ding, Dong, Ditch, game.
Additionally, a witness of the heartbreaking scene come forward as they revealed what kind of horror they witnessed. In their statement, the witness revealed that they saw Guzman running away from a home immediately after ringing the doorbell and seconds later a gunshot was fired.
The horrible shooting took place at around 11:00 P.M., while the authorities were informed about the incident around mid-night. As per the Houston police department, Guzman was running away with a group of children on Racine Street, when he was playing the prank game.
As a gunshot was fired, children dispersed and Guzman was hit. As per the counts given by HPD Homicide division Sergeant and Detective, he earlier revealed that the child suffered two gunshots.

A SWAT team on Tuesday, September 2, has arrested Gonzalo Leon Jr. and transferred him into Harris County Jail. The prosecutors in the case are considering a capital murder charge against the man, who allegedly fired at the fleeing children after Guzman rang his doorbell as part of a “ding-dong ditch” prank.
Leon’s defense attorney, GP Macerola revealed Leon was an army veteran who served three years as an infantry soldier during his court appearance after being arrested on Tuesday morning at a La Quinta motel in La Porte to which he had fled to from his house.
Gonzalo Leon, Jr, 42, on Tuesday was charged with murder over the August 30 shooting of the elementary school student as the boy was playing ding dong ditch in an east Houston neighborhood and was ordered Wednesday morning to be held on a $1 million bond after prosecutors said they were considering bringing more serious charges against him.
If convicted under the current murder charge, Leon could be sentenced to between 5 and 99 years in state prison after shooting at both Julian and his cousin. He ended up hitting Julian in the back after he died.
