A statement from York RLFC Chairman, Clint Goodchild said, “On behalf of York RLFC, I wish to address the matter concerning Sinead Peach. Sinead expressed genuine remorse immediately for the comment and understands the serious nature of the situation. “As a Club, we have confidence the RFL tribunal process will take into account Sinead’s longstanding positive contribution to the game and her respectful reputation will be recognised. We are committed to the values of respect and integrity that underpin our sport.”

York Valkyrie player Sinead recently got embroiled in an incident with referee Oliver Salmon during a match against St. Helens. The incident took place during the 79th minute of the match, following which she is now facing a ban. Sinead reportedly uttered a vulgar remark after penalizing her team near their own line. Although the full conversation was not picked up on the broadcast, Salmon’s response was “I’m not having you saying, ‘Which one are you s******g?’ “You’re off”—was clearly audible as the referee issued the red card. The Rugby Football League have since announced that they will review her conduct with a disciplinary panel.

Career and stats
Sinead Peach started out her professional career at Featherstone Rovers in 2014, where she played in several Challenge Cup and Super League finals. She later moved to Castleford Tigers, helping the side win the League Leaders’ Shield in 2019. Later in 2021, Peach joined York Valkyrie and ultimately became its captain, securing multiple league honors with the squad.
