The “Slowly, It Dawns,” singer went on to write about the emotional trauma and her experience with the perpetrator. After the post went viral, Victoria dared her fans and followers in an Instagram Story to guess the name of the man behind the alleged abuser with Victoria neither agreeing to or denying the allegations of he being the accused as claimed by her fans.

Taking to Instagram, Victoria Canal wrote, “I can’t say his name but you can.” In her Instagram post, previously she revealed that the man behind the assault met her online when she was still 19. In addition, the singer alleged that the man invited her for her first professional opportunity.

Many believe the accused to be Michael Franti as he invited Canal for a collaboration in Nashville when she was 19 and is a page on his website from March 2018, the musician had written, “A few months ago I discovered a new artist on Instagram named Victoria Canal. She’s a 19-year-old singer/songwriter, pianist, guitarist and ukulele player who lives in NYC.”
Michael Franti and Victoria Canal had collaborated on The Flower and he even invited her to open the band’s Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre show with Xavier Rudd in June 2018.
Franti has now opened up on the allegations, denying Victoria Canal’s accusations, but admitted to cheating on his wife in an affair that happened seven years ago.
“7 years ago I had a romantic relationship outside my marriage. It was with an artist who was touring with me. I broke my wedding vows, I broke my wife’s trust, I broke her heart, and for that I am deeply sorry for the pain my actions have caused her,” Franti said.
“The artist and I had written a song together and later my team offered her a spot on tour as the support act. Over the course of the tour, we spent a lot of time together and soon began to feel strong emotions for one another.
“My wife found out about it and to save my marriage, we ended the relationship. The artist stayed on tour with us and we maintained a professional relationship. After the tour ended, she continued to perform at several shows,” he continued as he admitted to having a romantic relationship with the singer who many believe is Victoria Canal although he didn’t name her directly in his statement.
