For the curious, Ed Kelce and Donna Kelce have two sons, playing in the NFL, Travis Kelce, and Jason Kelce, playing for Kansas City Chiefs, and Philadelphia Eagles respectively.

Speaking about Ed Kelce, whose family has a military background, he grew up in Cleveland, and used to play football during his high school. Although the father of NFL star enrolled in the Ohio State University, however, he called it quits after realizing that he wants to serve his nation.
Earlier, during Travis and Jason’s podcast show titled “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce,” the father of the two football stars revealed that everybody in his family before him were in the military service, while revealing that he is talking about ‘the family that lived through World War II.”

Additionally, he revealed the reason behind him being an exception in his military family, as he said his application was rejected due to a knee injury. He attempted to join the Marines but neither the Marines nor the Army would accept him due to a knee injury from high school football.
However, he still went ahead and enlisted himself in the Coast Guard, though it didn’t last long, as he got to learn that he had Crohn’s disease.
Leaving the military dream, Travis’ father joined the steel industry and become a sales representative.

Meanwhile, alike Ed Kelce, his wife Donna was also born and raised in Cleveland. However, when she was 12-years-old her mother passed away and shortly thereafter they moved to the suburbs, wherein Donna’s father met a woman named Mary and walked down the aisle with her.
During her high school time, Donna participated at the Junior Olympics track and field and emerged as the winner. Although, her father was against woman playing sports, however, Donna got the support of her step-mother, whom she describes as “She is just a lovely lady,” while adding that she “feel so fortunate that I was raised by her.”
“(Mary) raised Don and I,” Donna Kelce said, referring to her brother and herself. “And, by the grace of God, if we didn’t have her, I don’t think we would have made it through.”

Following having the support of her step-mother Mary, whom the Kelce brothers seem to call ‘Grandma Murr,’ Donna become the first woman in their family to have a graduation degree from the Ohio University. The woman has worked for at least 30-years in the banking sector.
Mary motivated Donna Kelce to go to college, despite the reluctance of her father, who wanted her to attend secretarial school and she earned a degree in broadcast communications from Ohio University but decided to pursue a career in banking.
Ed and Donna met at the Cleveland bar Fagan’s after work for the first time.
Ed Kelce coached Travis Kelce in T-ball and Jason Kelce in coach pitch baseball while Donna Kelce ran track and field as her stepmom encouraged her to get involved in athletics in which she went on to win several medals at the Junior Olympics in running and high jump/
Donna’s brother, Don Blalock, played football at Purdue University.
