Who is Khalid Jamil?
Khalid Jamil, whose full name is Khalid Ahmed Jamil, is an Indian professional football coach and an ex-football player. Born in Kuwait City, Kuwait, on April 21, 1977, to Indian Punjabi parents in a Muslim family with his height standing at 6 feet. While in Kuwait, the professional player went to the U-14 football camp, and there, he met Michel Platini.
He spent his young years in the Middle East before his parents moved back to India after the Gulf war from 1990-91. He went to the Rizvi College in Mumbai.

Standing at 6-feet 0-inch (1.82m), Jamil is the first Indian coach, who was appointed as a permanent head coach of an Indian Super League club. Additionally, he is known as the only Indian coach, who qualified for the playoffs of the Indian Super League, an achievement which he achieved in 2020-21 season.
Career
As per reports, the current head coach of the Indian national team, began his professional career with Mahindra United in 1997, however, he didn’t play during the season, and left to join Air India a year later.
The player made his first professional appearance during the 2000-2001 season for Air India donning the jersey number 7, and reportedly got an offer to join Brunei, an offer which he at the time rejected. In 2002, he went back to Mahindra, however, he rarely made any appearances due to multiple injuries, which made him retire quite early in his career.
The player, who played as midfielder announced his retirement in 2009. The player represented Indian team in a total of 40 matches between 1998 to 2006. At the time of writing this piece, there is no information available about Jamil’s educational or family details.
