2026 Ballon d’Or Power Rankings: top-ten rankings
Given below are the Ballon d’Or Power Rankings for 2026:
- Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool)
The Dutch midfielder has surprisingly impressed for Liverpool so far this season as the club enjoys a strong start under Arne Slot. Although Gravenberch has no chances over the trophy, his box-to-box presence and composure on the ball make him one of Europe’s most in-form midfielders.
- Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
While Salah still hasn’t hit his peak yet this season, he has still remained decisive in key matches, and with the AFCON set to take place this year, Salah still has a chance if he can improve his form.
- Vitinha (PSG/Portugal)
Vitinha is currently off a fresh podium finish in 2025, and continues to shine for both club and country. Vitinha has a good chance if Portugal manages to triumph at the World Cup.
- Ousmane Dembélé (PSG/France)
Despite winning the Ballon d’Or this year, he sits lower in the rankings for now, as retaining the award is usually rare. However, if he manages another dominant season with PSG and France, he could still be in the running for the trophy.
- Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool/Netherlands)
Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk continues to remain a defensive wall, and if the Reds deliver on their Premier League and Champions League expectations, Van Dijk has a strong chance.
- Pedri (Barcelona/Spain)
Pedri has quickly established himself as Barcelona’s midfield maestro with his control and vision keeping Spain and Barca ticking.
- Erling Haaland (Manchester City/Norway)
The Norwegian striker is currently back on a lethal run with 6 goals already in 8 league matches. If City manages to win silverware and Norway qualifies for the World Cup, Haaland has a strong hold on the trophy.
- Harry Kane (Bayern Munich/England)
Kane has been in outrageous form in Germany, with goals flowing in both the Bundesliga and Champions League. If he manages to win a major trophy this season, he definitely has strong chances to win the Ballon d’Or.
- Lamine Yamal (Barcelona/Spain)
Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has already impressed greatly both at the club and international level. Despite his injury setbacks, his creativity and flair make him the face of Barcelona’s resurgence and Spain’s future.
- Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid/France)
Kylian Mbappé has had a good start to his Real Madrid career, combining goals and a more complete all-around game under Xabi Alonso. If Madrid manages to win titles and France does well at the World Cup, the French forward has the best chances to win his first Ballon d’Or.
