Anaya Bangar is a transwoman cricketer who was born on 26 December 2000 in Mumbai as Aryan Bangar. She is the daughter of renowned cricketer and coach Sanjay Bangar. While she was born a biological male, she went onto transition and change her gender to female.
She grew up in a cricket-loving household and naturally followed in her father’s footsteps by competing in the sport. She underwent her transformation from Aryan to Anaya in 2024, undergoing hormone therapy and gender-affirming surgeries. However, after her transition, she faced eligibility restrictions in women’s cricket under ECB and ICC rules. As a result, she has now embraced new opportunities, particularly in UI/UX design.
