As per media reports, the UFC will be hosting its first ever professional MMA fight at the White House lawn during the 250th Independence-day. Earlier, in his statement, the 56-year-old told CBS Mornings that “It is definitely going to happen.” While the date and venue has been revealed, details about the timing and tickets are yet to be officially announced.

Additionally, Dana White said, he already had a word with President Donald Trump, who is a long-time UFC fan and friend of the CEO, while also revealing that he will meet Trump and his daughter Ivanka later this month to continue the planning of the event.

Furthermore, White suggested that the more preparations for the event are underway. Meanwhile, earlier, in a statement President Trump also revealed to his supporters in Iowa in an event, last month, that he wanted to hold the UFC Fight at his presidential residence.

Fight Card

As of now, it is not clear which UFC fighter will participate in the fight card that is scheduled to be held at the White House. Though, media reports suggest that this fight card will be a part of “a full year of festivities,” earlier revealed by the White House for the nation’s 250th celebration day. To plan the celebration for the nation, President Trump announced that he has created a task force.

Various reports suggest the potential presence of Jon Jones at the event, as the announcement coincides with his comeback to the UFC, after retiring and relinquishing his championship. The 38-year-old has sparked a widespread debate regarding his potential involvement at the competition with him being re-entering the UFC’s drug testing program.

The American former MMA artist had retired following his last fight in November at Madison Square Garden, where he defeated Stipe Miocic by knockout. Jones’ recent engagement with drug-testing indicates at a possible reconsideration of his retirement status, though as of now, there isn’t any official confirmation about the same.

Where to Watch

Though, at the time of writing this piece, it isn’t confirmed which UFC fighter will be present at the event and who will be facing whom, however, it is already decided that the event will be broadcast live on CBS, as this event is announced as a part of an agreement with Paramount.
